Vancouver Riots Make Detroit's Look Mild

Thousands of pissed off Vancouver Canucks fans stormed the streets following their ugly game 7 loss to the Boston Bruins last night and wreaked havoc on the city. In fact, the Vancouver Riots rivaled many of the riots in our cities and that includes Detroit. In Detroit, the classless trogladytes will even riot when their teams WIN. The whole city erupted in chaos after the Tigers won in 1984 and again in 1990 when the Pistons won.

Following the loss, the fans poured into the streets like roaches and showered big screen TVs in the streets with beer bottles, smashed storefront windows, and vandalized countless cars and properties. Added to that, police vehicles were overturned in the process. For a great slideshow of the Vancouver Riots, check out Yahoo's photo Gallery.

That's something to be proud of Vancouver. At least us Americans can take comfort knowing that our neighbors from North can also engage in some horrid behavior following sporting events.

On a side note, this is an interesting stat for our Philly teams. This marks the 5th time in the past year where a team either won a title or appeared in a Final round after beating a Philly team in the playoffs. The Flyers lost in the Cup Finals last year. The Phillies lost to the Giants who won the World Series. The Eagles lost to the Packers who won the Super Bowl. The Sixers lost to the Heat who just lost to the Mavs. And, the Flyers were knocked out by the Bruins.

Anthony Weiner Will Step Down For Twitter Lewd Photo Scandal

As expected Anthony Weiner will in fact step down following his embarrassing Twitter scandal, which all started when he sent out a lewd photo accidentally to thousands of people. First there was the Twitter photo gaffe. And, Anthony Weiner denied it and then came clean. At that point he had a chance of surviving this. Then more women came out of the woodwork and more photos ensued, including some really seedy ones of him inside a congressional gym. Then there was the story of the 17-year-old.

The timeline of the Anthony Weiner scandal is truly one for the ages. It started off with stupidity and will probably end with his career in ruins.

Once the you know what hit the fan, there was no way Weiner could survive this. He announced he was taking a 2-week leave of absence, but anyone with half a brain could see the proverbial writing on the wall. He was toast. Weiner is expected to announce his resignation soon.

Phillies Win Both Games of Doubleheader Against Marlins

The Phillies racked up a whopping 17 runs against the Marlins in the first two games of their series this week including yesterday afternoon's game. It appeared that the fish were cooked. Last night however, the Fightins ran into some trouble and trailed for much of the game...until crunch time of course. They found themselves down 4-2 heading into the 9th inning, but Shane Victorino came up with a huge hit to knot it up 4-4. And, the Phillies pulled out a 5-4 win in the 10th.

They will go back at it today at 1:05.
