Debt Ceiling Debate Continues

The clock is ticking as Congressional lawmakers have until August 2 to raise the debt ceiling, or so they're told by the Obama Administration. Obama insists that if a deal doesn't get done, then Social Security payments could be at risk. Mitch McConnell suggested a short-term fix, but it's clear Obama wants a long-term mega deal and for good reason. Top lawmakers are set to meet at with Obama at the White House for a fourth consecutive day to try and reach a deal.

As President Obama's approval ratings continue to suffer, could a debt ceiling victory be his last chance at preserving a second term?

Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee Shine in NL All-Star Game

Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee represented the Phillies proudly and shined in last night's All-Star game. Both aces combined for 4 innings and just 1one earned run (the only earned run allowed) in the National League's 5-1 victory over the American League in the All-Star game last night.

This marks the second consecutive year the NL has won the All-Star game and the first time they have done so since 1995.
