Eagles Mike Patterson Suffers Seizure and Rushed to Hospital

Eagles starting defensive tackle Mike Patterson was rushed to the hospital after suffering a seizure at practice this morning in Lehigh.

It was reported by Philly.com that Mike Patterson started shaking violently and fell to the ground just as the defensive linemen were getting ready for one-on-one drills. Coach Andy Reid started yelling for the medical staff. Patterson then fell to the ground and was unconscious for a short time before regaining consciousness and starting to move his extremities.

Patterson is reportedly alert and doing well at the hospital.

Philadelphia Eagles Sign Ronnie Brown

The Eagles continued their free agency frenzy yesterday by signing former Miami Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown.

Brown was the #2 overall pick in the 2005 NFL draft and part of a draft class from Auburn which included #5 overall pick Cadillac Williams and Jason Campbell, who was selected 25th in the 1st round.

Brown will of course serve as the backup to LeSean McCoy.

Brown is the latest signing by the Eagles. Just 9 days ago the NFL Lockout was officially over and since then the Eagles have overhauled their defense by adding All-Pro Nnamdi Asomugha, Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie, Jason Babin, and Cullen Jenkins. And, they signed Vince Young to serve as Michael Vick's backup.

Phillies Defeat Rockies 5-0

The Phillies knocked off the Rockies 5-0 in Colorado last night, notching their 5th straight win. Aaron Cook was little match for the resurgent Phillies offense. The game was over in the 4th inning when the Ryan Howard made it 4-0 with a 2-run homerun. Hunter Pence also had a big night going 2-for-3 (2 doubles) with an RBI.

In a rare case, Kyle Kendrick looked more like Cliff Lee last night in Colorado, yielding zero earned runs in eight innings to go along with a career-high 7 strikeouts. The Phillies will go for the sweep this afternoon at 3:10 P.M.
