The 2012 NHL Winter Classic is Here

The day has finally arrived...the 2012 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic is here. The Flyers are set to take on the Rangers at 3:00 P.M. today. Due to warm weather and sunny conditions, NHL officials decided to push the game back 2 hours.

Goalie Ilya Bryzgalov has been benched for the contest in favor of Sergei Bobrovsky. And, Bryzgalov has handled the situation with pure class and with humor saying it was "good news" he's being benched and that they'll have a good chance to win.

Citizen's Bank Park was the scene of the Alumni game on Saturday, which in it's own right rivaled today's Winter Classic as an even bigger event. Make no mistake about it though - the entire Winter Classic event is the biggest Philly sports event since the Phillies' World Series parade in 2008.

Eagles Finish Out Regular Season 8-8 With Win Over Redskins

The Eagles wrapped up their season yesterday with another blowout win over a horrible team, knocking off the Redskins 34-10. They closed out the year with a meaningless 4-game winning streak and are 8-8.

Andy Reid will likely keep his job and we can get ready for a full offseason of Eagles spin doctoring. There is an outside chance that the Eagles will replace Juan Castillo with Steve Spagnuolo, now that he has been fired by the Rams.
