Susan G. Komen Reverses Decision to Pull Funding for Planned Parenthood

The Susan G. Komen Foundation did a complete 180 yesterday after announcing they were pulling funding for Planned Parenthood earlier this week.

Susan G. Komen President and Founder Nancy Brinker issued an apology for the decision to pull funding for Planned Parenthood, which would have dealt a blow to low-income women who depended upon their services.

“We want to apologize to the American public for recent decisions that cast doubt upon our commitment to our mission of saving women’s lives,” president and founder Nancy Brinker said in a statement today. “We have been distressed at the presumption that the changes made to our funding criteria were done for political reasons or to specifically penalize Planned Parenthood. They were not.

Over the year's the Susan G. Komen foundation has been under pressure to cut financial ties with Planned Parenthood, due to right wing influences within the organization. What this boils down to is the right-wing's obsession with abortion and disdain for low-income families in general. Kudos to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for reversing course. In this case the decision was brought about by Karen Handel, who is a close friend of Sarah Palin's.

The Susan G. Komen Foundation is the largest breast cancer organization in America.

Super Bowl 2012 Is Just One Day Away

The long awaited rematch between the New York Giants and New England Patriots in the Super Bowl is just one day away.

With severe weather stretching across the country, there doesn't appear to be a threat of any blizzards in Indianapolis though. Super Bowl weather will be a little chilly, but well above average for this time of year.

Thousands of people have descended upon Super Bowl Park at Lucas Oil Stadium in anticipation of the Eli Manning-Tom Brady rematch.
