Rush Limbaugh Makes Incendiary Comments About Sandra Fluke
Wednesday on his radio show, Republican loudmouth Rush Limbaugh went at it with the "feminazis" as he calls them - women who fight for their rights. This time he was taking on the issue of contraception, which has become a huge debate in recent weeks. Rush Limbaugh lambasted Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown University Law student who testified in front of Congress in favor of mandatory coverage of contraception in employer-provided insurance. Rather than make a rational, valid argument, Limbaugh took the low-road and called Fluke a "slut" and a "prostitute" for taking a stand.
In Limbaugh's words, he stated: “What does that make her?” Limbaugh said on his show Wednesday night. “It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute...She wants to be paid to have sex,” Limbaugh continued. “She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception.”
Limbaugh followed up Wednesday's comments with this gem, “I will buy all of the women at Georgetown University as much aspirin to put between their knees as they want.”
As time goes on, Rush Limbaugh seems to be causing more damage to a Republican Party which has grown more and more out of touch with everyday Americans as they pander to a small segment of America which is stuck in the 1950's.
Cell Phone Jammer Sticks it to Fellow Bus Riders Who Ruin His Commute
NBC 10 reporter Harry Hairston ran a story this week on a man named Eric who became fed up with fellow passengers on a bus. So, he took it upon himself to carry with him a cell phone jammer, which would block their ability to make calls.
Eric told NBC 10 in Philadelphia, "A lot of people are extremely loud, no sense of just privacy or anything. When it becomes a bother, that’s when I screw on the antenna and flip the switch...I guess I’m taking the law into my own hands and, quite frankly, I’m proud of it."
When Harry Hairston informed Eric that what he was doing was illegal and violating FCC laws, he brushed it off as a "gray area."
President Obama Responds to Rush Limbaugh's Foul Comments on Women
President Obama addressed Rush Limbaugh's foul comments about Sandra Fluke this week, after he referred to her as a slut and a prostitute for fighting for women's contraception rights.
Obama called Sandra Fluke personally and said his comments were "reprehensible" and "expressed his disappointment that she has been the subject of inappropriate personal attacks.”
Sandra Fluke recounted her conversation with President Obama and said, “He’s really a very a kind man...He just called to express concern for me and to make sure I was OK and to say that he supported me and to thank me for speaking out about something that’s so important to so many women.”
Kudos to the Commander-in-Chief for taking a stand against Limbaugh's disgusting comments, which belittle women's rights.
Lindsay Lohan Hosting SNL This Week, Does an Interview on The Today Show
Lindsay Lohan is continuing her comeback following her Playboy spread a few months back. This week she is hosting Saturday Night Live and sat down with Matt Lauer on The Today Show to talk about her tumultuous life and her road to recovery.
Lohan told Lauer, "I've grown. I learned how to live my life in a way that I can be happy...I think it's this last kind of whirlwind of experiences that I've gone through the past year and a half. I've kind of taken a step back. I wasn't doing what I love to do. I need to find a way to find that balance again....I like doing this kind of stuff and and having positive things to talk about. And, I kind of lost sight of that."
Lohan followed that up by telling Lauer, "I think I was being a bit ignorant towards the fact that maybe I should not go out all the time. Maybe I should rest. Maybe I should you know, start to grow up, and take care of myself."
Lindsay Lohan is saying the right things and appearing to get her butt in gear. Now, can she build on the positive momentum from her appearance on SNL this week? We shall see.
