Philadelphia Phillies Epic Free Fall Continues

The Phillies' diasastrous 2012 season just got worse over the weekend after being swept by the Miami Marlins, losing their fifth game in a row. The Phillies are now 36-45 and 11 games behind the Nationals in the NL East. They are so bad that they will have to play 20 games above .500 for the rest of the season just to get the last Wild Card spot - as it stands now.

They are now the 5th worst team in the NL. The Phillies' debacle of a season can't be blamed on Charlie Manuel or just a few players. As Philly2Philly's Matt Babiarz states, the Phillies' collapse is a team effort.

At least they have three players who were named to the All-Star team. Carlos Ruiz made it for the first time and still leads the majors with a .356 batting average.

It's pretty sad that just a year ago the Phillies were the best team in baseball. Now many of us are looking to the future as they are rumored to be shopping Cole Hamels around for prospects.

One bright spot in all of this is that the Eagles begin training camp in three weeks.

New Jersey Residents Cleaning Up Following Weekend Storm

For those of us in PA we didn't even realize there were bad storms in the region. If you were in New Jersey on Saturday, things were much different.

Thousands of people are still without power in Jersey, following the violent storms over the weekend. Many of the storms were as powerful as a hurricane.

Atlantic and Cumberland counties were hit hardest early on Saturday.
