Valley Swim Club Reaches Settlement

A Philadelphia area swim club known as the Valley Swim Club made national headlines in 2009 when they revoked the memberships of children who were minorities. Since that time, the swim club has gone bankrupt and they have reached a settlement with the kids.

A group of hispanic and African American children will share the profits from the sale of the swim club after court costs are paid.

Attorneys for Creative Steps said Friday that 73 members of the camp (which includes 66 children) - will share a settlement of $700,000 to $1.1 million, pending approval from a federal bankruptcy court judge.

Eagles Get Set to Take on the Patriots in Preseason Game #2

The Philadelphia Eagles are gearing up for their second preseason game, which unusually takes place 11 days after their opener against the Steelers last Thursday night. Typically preseason games are spaced about a week apart.

Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has been fined $21,000 for a hit on Steelers backup QB Byron Leftwich in the preseason opener. Rodgers-Cromartie did leave his feet when he hit Leftwich in his head and neck. At the time he was flagged with a 15-yard penalty.

The Eagles will take on the Patriots Monday Night at Foxborough. This will be a nice test for the defensive starters in the first half as they take on the Patriots' offensive machine led by Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and Wes Welker.

Following the Eagles' Monday night game against the Patriots, they will play their last two preseason games within 10 days.
