NBA Lottery Gods Smile Upon Philadelphia 76ers: Sixers Receive 2nd Overall Pick in Draft

water cooler logoPhiladelphia 76ers fans, you got your wish!  The Sixers had the NBA Lottery Gods smile in their favor and they will get the 2nd overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft.

The Sixers have been in dire need for some star power.  Their best player is Andre Iguodala, who is at best a #2 or #3 on any other team. And, Elton Brand has been a collosal bust-maybe the biggest bust in the history of Philadelphia sports when you consider the amount of money he received-$80 million.

Looks like Jrue Holliday was the lucky charm the Sixers needed. The Sixers vaulted up from the 6th slot to the 2nd pick.  This will be their highest selection since 1997 when they also had the 2nd overall pick.

You can expect the Sixers to draft Ohio State's Evan Turner with the #2 pick as John Wall will certainly be the #1 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. Evan Turner is a great 2nd selection though who many expect to be a superstar.
