Ben Roethlisberger Should Be In Same Amount Of Trouble As Lawrence Taylor

water cooler logoWhen news broke of Lawrence Taylor being arrested for the rape of a 16-year-old girl yesterday, the first thing that came to mind was how unbelievable it was.  Even though LT has had a track record of drug abuse, I always felt that he seemed like a decent human being.  Lawrence Taylor actually showed a lighter side when he was on Dancing With The Stars last year.

The second thing that came to mind was Ben Roethlisberger-who got off literally scot-free from an alleged sexual assault charge in Georgia.

The more you read about Ben Roethlisberger's alleged assault in Georgia, the more it stinks to high heaven.

Sgt. Jerry Blash, the Georgia Cop who interviewed Roethlisberger after he allegedly raped the 20-year-old woman resigned from the police force after making derogatory comments about the victim and he accused her of fabricating the attack.

This disgrace of a police officer said the following about the alleged victim:

"We have a problem," Blash reportedly said. "This drunken b----, drunk off her a--, is accusing Ben of rape. This p----- me off. Women can do this. It's b------- but we've got to do this, we've got to do a report. This is BS. She's making s--- up."

Added to that, Ben Roethlisberger had  two off-duty cops in his entourage the night of the alleged assault.

According to TMZ.com the PA State Police had to punish State Trooper Edward Joyner after the incident who was with Roethlisberger that night.

It would stand to reason that if Roethlisberger had cops in his entourage and clearly had an officer on his side (Jerry Blash) then the crime scene would be put into question as well.  Turns out the crime scene including the bathroom where the alleged attack took place was cleaned up with bleach and Pine-Sol the very next day!  Added to that, the security video from the bar was erased.

For Roger Goodell to hand down a 6-game suspension to Roethlisberger, you have to assume where there's smoke there's fire.  If Roethlisberger didn't have cops in his entourage and a cop on his side, things would be a lot different.

Fortunately, Lawrence Taylor didn't have that luxury (having cops on his side).  If Roethlisberger didn't have the cops on his side, he might be in the same boat as Lawrence Taylor right now.
