Donald Trump is unknowingly sabotaging Mitt Romney

Here is a prime example of why celebrities endorsing Presidents is a bad idea.

Donald Trump had people on the edge of their seats in anticipation of a major “bombshell” regarding President Obama and his bid for re-election Wednesday.

Instead, Trump’s announcement made him a laughing stock, as people were left shaking their heads wondering what exactly this “bombshell” was.

“President Obama is the least transparent President in the history of his country,” quipped Trump from a desk Wednesday afternoon in regards to the President’s past. In exchange for Obama releasing his college and passport records, Trump offered to donate $5 million to the charity of Obama’s choosing. Obama has until Halloween to consider Trump’s offer, but something tells me he’s not going to take him up on it.

So much for changing the race for the White House.......

Trump, who seems to have an obsession with Obama's birth certificate, has made no secret he is endorsing Republican nominee Mitt Romney in this year’s election. However, by doing what he did Wednesday, Trump certainly isn’t helping Romney’s cause. In fact, he’s probably helping Obama.

On the other side, while I think Trump’s “offer” is utterly ridiculous, there’s no arguing that, unlike any President that has come before him, Obama’s personal history at times often comes off as speculation rather than factual.  Yes, I know Obama has a published biography which he provides detailed accounts of his life, but so does Lance Armstrong. And if it’s not that much of a big deal and Obama has nothing to hide, why wouldn’t he just say “Hey, no problem” as opposed to laughing it off on Jay Leno?  Before the hate mail comes in, I’m not implying anything, but I can’t help but wonder sometimes why his past records are so checkered in addition to being inaccessible.

It is yet to be determined how much of Trump’s charade will have an effect on the latest election polls, but he should really leave well enough alone.

After all, will he be hurting either way if Obama or Romney wins?
