Philly2Philly.com-NFL Playoff Scenarios - Wild Card Round

"Bookmark

Once again, the NFL Playoff Scenarios are confusing and have more twists and turns than a Quentin Tarantino movie, especially on the AFC side of the ball where seven (7) teams will enter Week 17 with an opportunity to claim a wild-card berth.

And how's this for odd? There could be four (4) 1st round rematches of games played this week. Those rematches could be...Cardinals-Packers, Eagles-Cowboys, Bengals-Jets and Patriots-Texans. This will happen if the following transpires in Week 17:

*Cowboys beat Eagles

*Chiefs beat Broncos

*Raiders beat Ravens

*Vikings beat Giants

*Jets beat Bengals

*Texans beat Patriots

Could all this occur? Well if you've paid attention this year at all, you know that anything is possible. There are of course a seemingly endless number of machinations and scenarios and I will refrain from boring you with all of them... needless to say, it's complicated. Try learning to speak Latin, it would be easier.

My advice is to give your brain a rest, root for your favorite team and hope for the best...eagles cowboys

However, there are some things we do know for sure:

*The Colts, Chargers and Saints all have 1st round byes.

*The Jets and Ravens are in if they win.

*The Eagles can clinch the #2 seed in the NFC with a win over Dallas.

*The Patriots can clinch the #3 seed in the AFC with a win over Houston OR Cincinnati loss to Jets

That's pretty much it. Every other team has one or more scenarios that could affect either its seeding or whether they get in or not...
