Last week, yours truly was much better than the last couple weeks, checking in with 11 wins. Then again, anything is better than 4 wins.

This week the Eagles head to Chicago to take on the Bears, whom they have had much success against during the Andy Reid era with the exception of a few years ago when Brian Griese burned them with a game-winning drive in the 4th quarter. This will also be the Eagles' first game in extremely cold conditions. They also go up against a defensive unit which is ranked 1st in the NFL. With their win against the Giants last week they showed they can grind out a tough win even when they are off their game. Michael Vick still doesn't have an interception on the season, but Chicago is great against the pass. Something has to give.

On Thanksgiving most of our panel is going a different direction than myself on the Lions-Patriots and Saints-Cowboys games. I'm picking the Lions to upset the Patriots and the Cowboys to upset the Saints.

As far as my rationale, I am betting the Lions finally win on Thanksgiving. Call it the law of averages. Having not won on Thanksgiving since 2002, they are due. As far as the Cowboys-Saints game, I see the Cowboys going on a roll now that they got Wade Phillips fired. Talent-wise they are as good as any team in the NFC East and were never that bad of a team. Clearly they wanted to get Wade Phillips fired. If you're picking the game then by all means avoid my advice at all costs. I have proven time and time again that I am anything but an expert at picking games. I throw darts and hope to hit a bullseye once in a while like many people. Except a lot of my darts havent' even hit the dartboard!
