Reading Eagle Benefits From Stephen Strasburg Hype Who Faces Reading Phillies Tonight

Stephen Strasburg, the best pitching prospect to come down the pike in a decade is heading into Reading tonight to face stephen strasburgthe Reading Phillies just a few days after dominating the Reading Phillies in Harrisburg.

Aside from this being a boon for the Reading Phillies (as if they need much of a lift since they usually sell out) it also gives The Reading Eagle a lot of traffic for this "event."

Why else is Reading Eagle a huge google search trend today? Stephen Strasburg is already a superstar and he hasn't thrown a pitch in a major league game yet.  Heck, even fellow 2009 draftee Mike Leake reached the majors faster as he didn't even throw a pitch in the minors and became just the fourth pitcher in the past 30 years to go straight to the majors.

But, Strasburg is a different animal. His minor league stint with the Harrisburg Senators will be short-lived.  Wherever he goes, it's an event.  According to The Reading Eagle, ESPN's Buster Olney called Strasburg the greatest pitching prospect ever.

Tonight, Reading will be in the spotlight as the Strasburg Express rolls into Berks County.  And, even The Reading Eagle is benefiting in a big way.

One caveat for those of you going to the game tonight.  Weather could be a factor as there are supposed to be thunderstorms rolling through the area this afternoon with more rain tonight.
