Odds are Mark Sanchez leads Eagles to NFL Playoffs

No Nick Foles? No problem!

Buoyed by criticism hurled against him following the Eagles' 53-20 defeat to the Green Bay Packers several weeks ago, Mark Sanchez delivered his finest performance yet in an Eagles uniform, throwing for 217 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in Philly’s huge divisional win over the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving.

With the victory, the Eagles are back on top of the NFC East with a 9-3 record, one game clear of the ‘Boys. With just four games remaining in the season, the Eagles are now in prime position to reach the playoffs for the second straight year.

There’s no denying, the narrative has shifted around this team. Part of the reason behind the sudden rush of optimism for the Eagles is the improved play of LeSean McCoy. The 26-year-old had a monster showing Thursday against the Cowboys, rushing for 159 yards and a touchdown in another tour-de-force performance. McCoy, who struggled earlier this year, has now secured his fourth 1,000-yard season since 2010.

Even Sanchez got in on the rushing fun on Thursday. He had his first scoring run in three years and was instrumental in Philadelphia’s quick start against Dallas, going 9 of 11 for 99 yards and a touchdown in the opening quarter of their game last week.

With how well the Eagles are playing (and public opinion rallying behind them), their betting line at sportsbooks is moving in their favor. This is due in part, no doubt, to the action coming from Philly and our Eagles’ “expats.” Their odds to win the Super Bowl are now at +1400, and if you’re thinking about picking the division leaders, now is the time to do so. We’re not at liberty to refer you to any ‘book, but if you’re into doing some homework on the matter, a site like SportsbookNation has a section for TopBet reviews (where the odds are at +1400) as well as reviews of many other NFL sportsbooks.

We may still be months away from the big dance, but it’s never too early for fans to start dreaming of Philadelphia winning their first ever Super Bowl.
