Eagles top Redskins: Keep NFL's best record - The Morning After

Another Birds game, another hotel room.

That’s right, campers. Judging by my schedule the last month, you might think I’m some kind of rock star. And by all means, feel free to think that. I wouldn’t want to ruin the fun for you or for me.

This week’s journey takes me to Boston, where I watched our beloved Birds take down a Redskins team essentially fighting to save their season. Despite heavy travel on the itinerary, I’m one dedicated Birds fan, and as long as P2P is here, you will get your recaps from mTMAe on this site. That being said…..Joe Vallee better give me a raise!

Here’s some random game thoughts from Beantown…..

*Derek Barnett  looks like he came to play - very active. Finally.

*It was an ugly first quarter with the Eagles at one point facing a daunting 1st and 30.

*This just in: Carson Wentz is pretty damn good. There can’t be another QB playing the way he’s been playing, so don’t even bother looking.

*And this just in: the Cleveland Browns still don't think he'll amount to anything.

*Did anyone else catch Jeffrey Lurie slumming it with some Eagles fans before the game? He almost looked like he was enjoying himself. Almost.

*Never thought I'd be saying this, but the Eagles missed Mychal Kendricks last night. I say that because coming off two less-than-stellar years, he has proven me and many others wrong. In the right system, the kid can play.

*Gotta give Doug Reid credit. He called a good game - save for not giving the ball to LeGarrette Blount enough, he kept the Skins off balance—but most importantly, he's allowing Wentz to audible at the line. That's a lot to ask of a 2nd year QB, but Doug has the faith, and Carson is rewarding him for it.

*Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. Zach Ertz broke a tackle. Ok.  I'm being smart, but you have to admit, he doesn't break many—but you also have to admit that he and Wentz have established an incredible chemistry.

*I'll tell you what man, that Jon Gruden just makes sh#t up as he goes. For example "The Bullies on Broad Street?" Man if I had a dime every time I heard Photo: Joe Vallee Sr.that term... I'd have twenty cents for the two times Gruden said it last night. Where the hell did he get that from? He hasn't coached in this city for over 20 years. It shows.

*And, as Joe Vallee pointed out in a text to me during the game, it would appear that Pat's and Geno's are the ONLY cheesesteak joints in the entire Delaware Valley, let alone in the city itself. Look, I get it. They are the tourist traps, but how about just once, we see a Jim's Steaks or Dalessandro's get some love?

*Jason Peters’ injury looked bad. Really bad. Ditto for Jordan Hicks. Both of the are done for the season. This is not good. The Eagles can’t keep affording to lose players. Their luck has to run out sooner or later in regards to this. Hopefully, this isn't it.

*Don't look now boys and girls but your Philadelphia Eagles just may be the best team in the NFC.

Truly hard to believe, Harry. I hope they can keep it up. Really don't know after these injuries.

As always,

Time's yours.

Food's mine.

Horrible.  Just horrible.

Horrible.  Just horrible.  Your complete lack of respect for Pederson.  Best record in the NFL and still you blather on about Doug "Reid".  Shameful. Shows your complete ignorance of the great job he's doing. You'd rather attempt to get a laugh, and this just in boys and girls-it ain't that funny, then give a shout out to the coach.  For the love of God, stop. You didn't like Andy Reid, we get it. Newsflash, camper, this coach ain't Andy Reid...
