In a town known for sometimes holding on to their star athletes for too long, there have also been occurrences when Philadelphia sports teams part company with players when their value is quite high. Some trades were completely unexpected. Some were long overdue, and some were simply a matter of time before they actually happened. Off the top of my head, no Flyers or Eagles really came to mind. Let's be honest here: The Philadelphia 76ers are in dire, dire straits. There were more people at Mad River's Happy Hour than at the Sixers game against the Grizzlies last Friday. On Thanksgiving eve, a local bar in Philadelphia decided to show the Magic vs. Heat on their big screen as opposed to Sixers vs. Celtics.

Allen Iverson just doesn’t get it. Yesterday I received a text message that stated Allen Iverson has officially been released from the Memphis Grizzlies and will be put on waivers on Monday. This came not even two months into the season after Iverson publicly stated that he was unhappy with his current role with the ball club.
